GS Summer Camp Registration Begins March 1st

It is that time of year again... Camp registration begins March 1st


Below are the Sleepover Camps that will be available to our NEW JUNIOR scouts.


Last year both Lulu and Cami went to overnight and Cami and Claire went to Day Camp and if you have any questions I know that they would be happy to answer them.

Volunteer-led Day Camp

Camp Survivor goes “Wild West” 
Service Unit:  #736/Bolingbrook, IL
Yee-haw cowgirls! Jump in your stagecoach and head to O’Hara Woods. Cowpoke campers will work on prairie crafts, campfire songs, hiking, fishing, games, outdoor cooking, and daily ranch challenges. On Friday, all cowgirls and ranch hands will participate in a Girl Scout “rodeo” and gather ‘round for an old-fashioned chuck wagon supper. Friday overnight camping option is available for girls entering 4th grade and up in the fall.  Camp fee will include: a theme patch, progression patch, T-shirt, bandana, 1 lunch and 1 dinner.

Join us at Messenger Woods where we will participate in traditional Girl Scout camping activities, including hiking through the woods, creating crafts, building fires and cooking our own lunches.  On Friday, gather for a fun day of activities ending with a delicious Friday picnic dinner.

Are you “all about art?” Maybe you’d like to design something to wear or for your home inspires you. Learn sewing and weaving techniques. Decide on what types of art projects you would like to do. Work on a variety of activities from the “Create and Invent” section of the Girl Scout Junior badge book.

Bits and Bridles
Jump in the saddle! Spend the week learning all you can about horses, their habits and their care. On three mornings we will travel to a local stable to go on a trail ride. Those mornings will also feature a “clinic” at the stable that will be a great chance to learn more in a handson manner. General camp program will be in included. This is a beginning horse program.
Activities from the “Horse Rider” and “Horse Sense” badges will be worked on.

There’s water aerobics, yoga, archery and more in our fitness week. Make healthy snacks and fruit smoothies! Can you complete the fitness course?  Work on activities from the “Fun & Fit,” “Stress Less,” “Highway to Health” and “Healthy Living” badges along with general camp program.

Junior Jumble

Junior Naturalist
Take your nature knowledge to the next level. Explore nature through games, scavenger hunts and hiking. Work on the “Earth Connections” and “Eco-Action” badges. The fun continues during a field trip to Journey World. Discover  the power of alternative energy in teams. Night Owls
